Support the campaign to stop the fracking at the Dead Sea area
The Dead Sea region is one of the most unique natural wonders on earth. But for decades, it has been a victim of aggressive, offensive, and dangerous industrial activity under the auspices of "Israel Chemicals" the Ofer family-owned corporation.
Over the years, Israeli governments have given free rein to polluters to exploit the Dead Sea region's public natural resources and to pocket huge profits in the context of total environmental plunder.
The Dead Sea region now faces a new threat of destruction if approval is granted for the Cassela family owned Re’em company's plan for devastating and outdated shale oil production on the Rotem plants.
Mining oil on the Rotem site will poison the area's air and soil.
Utilizing such polluting fuel will drag Israel decades backwards as the world struggles with the climate crisis and transitions to renewable energy.
Steinitz, this stain will not come out. Stop the oil disaster in the Dead Sea.
Greenpeace is the only global environmental charity that accepts no corporate so we can maintain a much needed independent voice, but it means we rely on individual supporters like you to fund our work.
“Supporters like you keep us running. All our money is spent on our campaigns in Israel and around the world. Your gift will be a contribute for a better and healthier future, fighting climate change and the destruction of nature, keeping the forests standing and the oceans healthy. Thank you.”
